Loved the little birds and loved the whole recycle mechanic. But by far what I loved was when someone would spend the whole game just trying to bring out their boss with a huge number and I'd whip this out.

I stopped caring about Yugioh TCG after GX, but my favorite Yugioh monster is definitely Gearfried the Iron Knight. I always found this monster to be pretty subtle both in concept and design. At first glance it's just a knight in black clad armor, but beneath that armor it's a powerful swordsman with enormous strength. Also, I know it's a fan favorite, and has been oversexualized to death but I do like Dark Magician girl.(She is a pretty cute monster card and I like the idea of a female apprentice to Dark Magician) But since it's just one favorite card, I'll stick with Gearfried as my main answer.

These two were my bread and butter back in the day.
