In terms of being an innocent child with no knowledge of the world, the first anime I saw was Pokemon.
In terms of being introduced into the Otaku culture, a friend had me watch Hayate no Gotoku as my first anime and that's what lead me to where I am now...

I think the first ever anime I saw was DBZ back when it was airing on Toonami. A few others were Outlaw Star, Pokemon and Tenchi Muyo.

besides pokemon samurai champlu. 10 years ago i bought the show, i never kept it because it annoyed me how it ended without saying what happens. if they finished it then that would be cool.
