How not to Summon a demon lord

otakueaterd
After finishing Overlord season 1 and 2 I never thought that there would be something close to it because let's be frank there has not been an anime that came the same amount of Awesomeness as Overlord and shown a new level of being a badass and trying to act as a badass and everybody believe that you're a badass but really you're just a otaku or a gamer…but anyway I started watching this anime known as “How ‘not’ To Summon A Demon Lord" that was Directed by Yūta Murano and Written by Kazuyuki Fudeyasu plus was animated by Studio Ajia-do Animation. The story starts off with Takuma Sakamoto who apparently and mysteriously transported to the world of his favourite MMORPG, Cross Reverie, with the appearance of his own character in the game, the Demon Lord Diablo. The two young girls who summoned him, the pantherian Rem and the elf Shera, attempt to use a spell to make Takuma their servant, but due to his passive "Magic Reflection" ability, the spell rebounds, and both end up with magic collars stuck on their necks, thus becoming his slaves instead. With a serious case of social anxiety, Takuma decides to act like his character while interacting with others, and makes use of his high stats and vast knowledge of Cross Reverie's lore to survive in his new environment, traveling along with Rem and Shera to look for a way to remove their slave collars while helping them with their own, personal issues that led them to summon him in the first place. Right now there has only been six episodes so far and with each episode it shows how powerful he is and the fact that he is literally stronger than every single last person in this universe gives me that feeling of Overlord's Lord Ainz. The thing that separates this anime from Overlord is the fact that it has original values to it where it has the comedy like konosuba but then on the other hand that has the Overlord seriousness nature. I can literally watch the episode over and over and then wait for the new episode of come out because the show is literally that good. it's not like one of those shows that you can get bored of easily it actually gives you those Overlord feels but most people think that it's just fanservice fanservice but that's not the case. If you look at the design and the artwork that goes into the landscapes then you'll definitely see where I'm coming from with this. How to summon a demon Lord is literally a fun show to get into and I am hoping that it will get the same amount of respect and have a season 2. What do you think of the show?

I was following the manga until the current chapter (at that time) and haven't retaken it...it always happen. Then I forgot where I left it >.> This is one of those cases where I don't feel like checking the anime because I already know what's going on, and there wasn't really flashy fights or something I was looking forward. It's still fun, with some maybe unnecessary amount of fanservice, but it's goood. There are other isekai I'm looking forward more in next seasons.

I just see it as mostly fan service with some adventure thrown in to make it somewhat interesting.

@Dai Shi Sawayakana, i'm also finding it difficult to compare between Overlord's seriousness and HNTSADL's more comical slant. I'm enjoying both shows for they're own strengths but probably more so HNTSADL as it's still in that initial world building stage of it's story and is simply more fun on an episode by episode basis. Overlord builds up to brilliant scenarios and fights but for me is abit of a slow burner in its build up to them. As a weird complaint there seems far too many interesting characters in Overlord which will never get enough of a backstory simply due to time limitations of the anime and the large cast. HNTSADL has a much smaller scope and i'm enjoying the simplicity of it all... yes it's huge dollops of fanservice but its nicely wrapped up in likeable characters and a serviceable storyline.
