Just a person who accepts me as I am. And they love themselves. Usual stuff.

First girl I /really/ dated was a year (a bit less) ago, and she used me. I didn't know I was being used until, I found out. I was always thinking everything that went bad was my fault, I mean, they were doubtful thoughts but in the end I'd put myself to blame. While talking about her and my breakup with people, they told me I blamed myself far too much. Also on the way there, I noticed the (girl) friends that I was talking to seemed to appreciate a lot of the things I was doing for her, like trying to not butt in too much on when she was trying to meet with her friends, trying to prepare things myself instead of just going somewhere (I made her dinner a couple times), etc. These things might seem trivial at first but my (girl) friends really appreciated how I acted in the relationship as I told them about it. I thought they were only normal at the time, but they're not all too common I was told. These are just personal experiences. While talking to them, they told me I should love myself before loving someone else, but I just think that's part of my character as a person. I'm just the kind of person that likes to help out ^_^ edit: I wrote etc. because I forgot the things they mentioned which were good things I did, but I just remembered one: Being there for her, almost all the time. What I like about girls is intelligence. I don't really care if you're dumber or smarter than me, if you are intelligent in some sort of category, that's a big plus. Straight forwardness, if you like something tell me. If you dislike something, tell me. I'm open for change. Being loved is a big plus. Not just being loved, FEELING like I'm being loved. Man I thought I was over her, but I'm clearly not. As I'm writing this, somehow, tears are starting to form in the corner of my eye. My emotions came back to me after the breakup, I missed them so much. Maybe a bit too personal for a post like this, but whatever. Thanks if you've been reading this far <3

When you help someone, and this person is not appreciating it, tell her that it hurts you.
