Will Smith and the concept of "Happiness"(No really)

burninghalo
Was watching a bunch of videos browsing around while I had some pancakes and eggs. Stumbled on this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H01LzX_izt0 Now what I found interesting was this concept of individual happiness. It does seem like quite a few people try and use relationships to supplicate others for validation or approval. They feel empty and rather than stare into the abyss and confront it they choose to think that it's someone else's job to "save" them from their darkness. To me that is selfish. Not trying to get personal with anyone here. Thing is your mood, how you react to life, and how you deal with the troubles in it are up to you. I agree with Will here for the most part. But what are your thoughts? Am I wrong? :P

And to be clear, I am not against helping others, especially the ones that you love and cherish. Indeed you do so because you love them. I'm speaking on people who rely on others to make them happy or fix everything. INB4 someone accuses me of being an inconsiderate prick.

I agree wholeheartedly since I've always viewed a relationship as an extension of the happiness we make for ourselves. Too many people place their happiness into their significant others as if they're responsible for keeping them happy. It's fine to want to make your other feel happier as that's pretty much the point but it's not the be all and end all of our lives.
