I quit Metal Gear 5's online because Konami did absolutely nothing to prevent blatant reprogramming of their Base Defense mode. - I was in the top 300 Bases in the world for the first 3 months until people found a way to reprogram the game to boot out any defender. - After grabbing an invader I would immediately get kicked out of my own base! - Once booted the game wouldn't let me back in until the invader finished the level. - How I also knew they were cheating was after they finished it would give a summary of the time and route they took. - The time limit for my base was 12 minutes. These people took 40 minutes. They were even captured by the computer NPC's over 5 different times, but the game continued until they stole literally everything off my base. - All of my SS rank staff were either killed or captured. - Even after reporting to Konami I got no response and a year later after the game's release 0 patches were made to prevent it. - However Konami made a point to roll out a REAL LIFE LIFE INSURANCE PLAN for fake NPC soldiers. - For $20 a month Konami would agree to replace staff up through rank A. - Not only did this not fix me losing months of game progress as my base was fully staffed with S rank soldiers, but it showed that Konami was blatant about capitalizing on hackers causing problems for their game. - Like "Yes we understand our game is compromised, but for $20 a month we'll continue to sit on our hands and do nothing." - In the end I nuked my own base. - I had beat the story and already got most of the achievements. - If hackers were going to undo 4 months of Base building in 40 minutes I figured it was time to close the book on my MGS legacy. - So blew up my online base with a nuke and quit playing MGS5 forever. https://external-preview.redd.it/em9TWkDqlttrDNWSMGzw0E6kSsYn4EUyUEct7KA7MXk.jpg?width=640&crop=smart&auto=webp&s=bd2adeeb598e99d82343ac8907884430ea6019ae
