Why is it when I order Chinese food takeout it's a stew or soup in a little folding box? It's not sauce it really is just oil and water. I go to other places and they do the same thing. Are they being a dick to me because I don't want to dine in I'm horribly shy and can't do sit down restaurants. I didn't know beef and broccoli, orange chicken, sesame chicken were soups -.-

The only thing I can think of, from your description of it is after they are finished cooking the beef broccoli, orange chicken, etc... they have the leftover sauce on the bottom of the cooking pan and think "Well, lets not let this go to waste" and dump the remainder of the excess sauce in the takeout box. Something that's a little harder to pull off in a dine-in situation because it's served on a plate.

That's the thing about Chinese food takeout though. Authentic Chinese doesn't do takeout.

I get that it's not real it just taste good after I empty all the liquid stuff out. It happens with each new place I try does that. I guess it could be from not being wasteful but they've all been take out from different places.
