A reminder to parents of adult children who are not married. Though it is appreciated the attempts to marry off your offspring, please remember to respect the person you're soliciting to's signals of disinterest. Also respect your own child's advice on the matter when it becomes known you're pushing them onto strangers. In this particular case I had my mother multiple times try to "light the fire" with a former classmate of mine. The woman and I shared classes, but we were never friends. I know because I tried and was shutdown then. This woman is very attractive and was never short on guys that followed her around school. She was also smart and participated in a variety of activities which lead to the woman starting her own business shortly out of college. To this day I heard she is very successful as well as liked by the community. Though she's in her 30's she has chosen to not marry. I expressed to my mother that clearly this woman, who is attractive and successful, is not interested in such matters. Also she is very much not interested in me. Not then and not now. I know this because my mother expressed frustration that my classmate couldn't remember who I was, but then when she did she changed the subject. A clear signal to leave this poor lady alone. But my mother then got frustrated by me saying as much going, "this is why you are single because you never try."

when you start running out of shampoo in a shampoo bottle, just buy a new one and start using that instead. When you used enough shampoo in the new bottle dump the remaining contents of the old one into the new bottle and then throw it away. No more squeezing the last drops out or watering it down.
