@hell_hound7 Can you transfer? Either departments or location?

I have been trying to change locations for 4 years now. Still no luck, next month i get the opportunity to volunteer yet again for a position somewhere else but i have no hope.

And there's no way to indiscriminately butter someone up for it to go in your favor? That's how it works in the corporate world. Never make enemies. Always be available. Find a higher up that you can bond with so you have someone that can vouch for you. That kinda stuff.

Swaps? DA 4187? probably terminology havent heard about due to different branches. But i just know i have been loking into special duties or just anything to get me out of here but They keep asking for staff nd above for special duty.. In a kinute im just gonna go to honor guard. But man idk, i begged for a deployment just to get me away from this hellhole.

It's an army program that let's you swap with other soldiers who are of same rank and MOS. The DA 4187 is the form you would fill out to send up to try and get your exchange. You can also use your ASK and go you on assignment to submit duty stations you'd like to change to. Befriending your battalion S-1 might be nice too.

Things may have changed since I was in but I had a Joe do this before. It's something you'll do yourself but it is an option if you really want to leave your duty station and can't PCS. ETS is always a good option too if you're unhappy with the military. If you have to seriously think about staying in or getting out when the time comes the ETS is probably the best option.

Not eligible for separation until august 2023 so like idk. But this base according to every person i have spoken with is honestly one of the worst. I dont wanna have my career be based on this place but i mean like this place is driving me nuts. Having a newly appointed sergeant talk down to me about splitting work with her when i have an entirely different job description and im only supposed to act as her back up when she has no other additional duties sends me up a wall.

Ahh the newly appointed NCO who was not ready for promotion and can't handle the work flow. Classic shitty situation. Have you talked to you direct COC? Is she like your squad leader or a section leader to you? Granted as military we are multipurpose and are intended to do extra work but when there is an is a issue with work not being completed due to the lack of leadership, experience, understanding, and inability to complete task leadership needs to be aware of the situation in order to fix the issue then fuck them there is always higher looking to crack down on people.
