@thesailingteacup Melatonin is really hit or miss for me, it either helps me go to sleep or I'm just dead tired but still can't sleep. @verucassault Yeah same here except I never took naps lol, It's an all or nothing ordeal for me. I was always out cold for like 5-12 hours. It's crazy but I mostly sleep like 10+ hours, waking up feeling groggy as hell. But if for some reason I wake up after a five hour sleep I'm more awake and alert than ever. But I can't time it because I usually can't sleep, so it's highly unfortunate. Alarms won't wake me if I just set them for no reason, if I know I'm waking up for like work it's a different story.

@verucassault Definitely was going to comment how jealous I am of any adult that can manage to slip naps into their day. Nope, just good old fashioned insomnia over here. I even envy those that can easily drift off to sleep in a matter of minutes. Unless I am extremely tired, I have a bad habit of lying in bed for hours (racing thoughts) and failing to rest. I've tried too many sleep-aids to count, but eventually my body builds up a tolerance. Should've paid more attention to the early stages of this when I was a teen heh.

@thesailingteacup I probably should but there's no way in hell I'd be able to sleep at some sleep clinic. My social anxiety and sleep issues are bad enough lol, I'd probably set a guinness world record for staying up if I did that. If there was some way I could get the equipment and do it at home that'd be way easier.

Same here. My mind has an active imagination and it's super hard to fall asleep within an hour. Plus, being a restless sleeper doesn't help me stay asleep. I'm constantly tossing and turning throughout the night.

@thesailingteacup I prob should do a sleep study but I know its not narcolepsy. I have witnessed narcolepsy. I used to work with a woman that would start snoring every day at her desk. Every. Day. It wasn't because she didn't sleep at night, though I figure she probably could use a bipap machine. But she worked like a third of us by comparison. Struggle staying awake for about 3-4 hours at her desk while she wasn't moving then cram all of her work into the last 2 hours of the day.

I imagine if she snored sitting up at her desk she probably never got sleep laying down. Def prob caused by apnea. I think her issue was fixable but it was kinda like "no no" thing with her to bring up. She was very aware of her problem and how it was becoming everyone else's problem. Buuuuuut she had no intention to fix it therefore 0 fucks. Oh reminder, same thing at this job. A woman kept falling asleep in one of the bathroom stalls. One day her fucking foot, ankle, and part of her leg was slipping over into my stall.. Someone from management caught her one day, asked if she would mind discussing it with HR present and she grabbed her bag and just walked out.
