Why Did You Join MaiOtaku?

I joined because i wanted to mess around and make some good friends who share the same intrests. And if I do find someone, I’ll cross that bridge later.

I originally joined because "otaku dating site". After some soul searching, my priorities shifted from "find girlfriend" to "make female friends". I've never really had female friends because I've never really been fortunate enough to meet girls that really share any of the same interests with me. While I'm not opposed to finding a girlfriend here (honestly, I would be thrilled if that happened), I'm finding that it's really nice to have a balance of male friends and female friends for the first time. I feel like I'm gradually getting more comfortable talking to girls in general. I've met a few really awesome people here, and despite all MO's flaws, I'm happy I found this place.

I joined to befriend anime lovers to eventually ask one of them out because it's my preferred method of getting a date/girlfriend. It's just kinda weird/hard to go up to someone irl and know them well enough to ask them out within a short conversation.

A friend of mine convinced me to join this site, and I hope to make friends, or maybe even find someone special. I've just started though, so I haven't accomplished anything yet!
