Make a point to listen to people you disagree with. Not only does it open you up to other viewpoints but it forces you to defend your own beliefs and thus affirm why you believe them. If you just shout down anyone who might disagree with you before they've said anything then your thoughts are never challenged. Imagine a child who was never told the words "you're wrong".

In defense of male K-on fans, people will like what they like. I dont enjoy the show but from what I've seen there is no specific reason a man wouldn't or shouldn't enjoy it.
