^I'm one of those types. I haven't seen any of my IRL friends for months, nor have I tried messaging them, but I garuntee you when I do, it will feel like no time has passed for me. I still care about them. I'm just a hermit. They know what's up.

That’s one part about college they don’t really talk about. People you had previously talked to and spent a lot of time with in high school or prior to college disappear, only to pop up on adventures elsewhere with others. It takes time, but either through school or work or clubs you’ll find a new group of buddies to kick it with. For me it was from my part time job. I made a bunch of great friends. We don’t talk much anymore since we’re all getting grow up, but they’re still my guys and I am theirs.

Yeah you're right. I just wish I could have enough time to join clubs and whatnot.

@snake I met my best buddy of 6 years while we were bagging groceries together one Sunday. He saw I was a Mets fan and started chatting with me, and within weeks we were hanging out 3-4 nights a week. Fast forward a few years and now I’m one of his groomsmen. Sometimes it’s the littlest of conversations that can lead to the best friendships.

*When you stop paying things mind, they have a funny way of working themselves out.* I like that, although I change it to "When you stop worrying, things have a funny way of working themselves out.". Same difference, I suppose. You know what? It's funny that you said that. I often look at how I've not been destitute and wonder how in the hell I keep skating by. I mean (And, I know there's no guarantee things will always work out.), some how no matter how close I've been to being financially broke, money seems to ALWAYS come at the exact time I need it. It's kind of wierd to me how it just seems to always work out. I may not be religious any more, but years ago when I was, I chose the online moniker of ravenofel. In other words, Raven of God. That's a reference to a verse (very loosely broken down here) that basically states, "Don't worry about how things will work out. If the Ravens are fed by God, how much greater are you?" It just makes me think from time to time.

Actually thought of the same verse recently, Yaass. And funnily enough, the concept appears in some other religions too. Resisting the flow of things and gripping on too tightly is probably our biggest mistake in general. Also, damn Ed. Glad you're still with us.
