@Yaasshat LOL! Isn't that typical? People using part or pieces of a quote to seem intelligent? It's even funnier when they use it and get caught. When's the last time we all had a group video chat? I just might host one again

@xfake & TKB *notice that IT made ANOTHER post about me* Case & point lol

I don't think education is the only thing that should be done to those who are deemed racist. I think they should also have to do mandatory volunteer work (depending on the charge will determine how many hours) at a community center in an urban/mixed community or volunteer at a hospital or fire department. If they were drunk/high/under the influence during the time of the incident, add on AA/DA meetings and what not on top of it. heh, have RA meetings too, lol. I think the person who is found 'guilty' of being racist should also have to handwrite an apology to the victim AFTER they complete their classes & volunteered hours. Any other ideas? Trying to make the punishment match the crime

Hecatia, You're absolutely right. Kichigai, My thing is, how do you deem something racist? I mean, I know what I call racist, but another might not. I think it's hard to just say something is racist, not to mention infringement of freedom of speech. It's different when it's discrimination or something physical and we have laws for that.

@Yaasshat I think we'd have to come to an agreement of what makes someone a racist/bigot and go from there. regardless if that means someone is technically a racist and they don't even know it. Hence the whole point of educating them so they either stop or continue

Yasshat you beat me to the punch - although there are many other holes (or more precisely incompleteness) in OP's point (there actually a discernible substantive point in there for once). Questions for if Racism were to become an official charge 1. Criminal and/or Civil Court? (this would set a lot of the dynamics right off the bat) 2. Like yasshat said and I've mentioned at least once or twice before... how do we define a racist? (and what about simply prejudiced, racially insensitivity or discriminatory behavior - the latter there are already laws for). In law things have certain criteria that must be met - what would/should these criteria be? 3. Educate how more precisely; on what merits. 4. Slippery ass slope - as wrong as (legitimate) racism is a formal charge for character flaws is a dangerous precedent (in our legal system precedent is VERY important - kind of the founding principle actually) ... why not formally charge plain bigots, people who act like assholes, anybody offensive to another 5. What would the penalty be for false claims (if other than the penalties for those who bring frivolous or false claims You see when you're trying to make anything viable in the legal system you have to have a great level of specifics and guidelines. It's a novel enough concept but applying this into law is going to be very difficult and it could easily do more harm than good - especially of the SJW's use the precedent into making being offensive an unlawful offense (Imagine the litigation on THAT haha).

If only someone could respond to me that I understood

I know something other than rainbow unicorn vague pipe dreams are pretty hard to discern for some - but actual intelligent people understood what I just said :) (Edit: I think intelligent people (beings) all over the entire universe can agree Exhibit A should not be anywhere near the legislature when drafting these Racism laws language)
