They're building a new house across from mine with land that hasn't been used in over 4 decades. The only problem I have other than less privacy is that the house will be sitting on land used for the drainage of rainwater in my yard. I don't know if this will cause it to backup. Also concerned if the leach field of the new house leaks is that going to drain back into the yard too? Already had that problem with another neighbor. Crap literally rolls downhill ya know! As for why they're squeezing a house on less than half an acre of land I was told that there was a home shortage. I asked how much the house was going to market for and was told close to 500k. My house is worth 140k and it has a full acre of yard. I thought to myself that it's not a shortage of housing that's the issue, but the cost. The average person is making 50-70k yearly and these builders are starting the low income market at 500k with next to no land! What a clown shoes world we live.

I bumped into an old friend from college the other day while traveling between warehouses for work. I asked what he was doing back here after he had moved to another state and got married roughly 7 years ago. He told me his wife received a job offer this way so they decided to return to Virginia. Now after a week he tells me he's quit the company because reasons... Part of me feels like it was seeing me again after 7 years of silence that made him leave, haha! It's not the first time I would have offended the guy as there was a secret silence between us that only was revealed through a mutual friend that informed that I had upset him. Let's hope that wasn't the case this time!
