but thats the thing they dont like you. they like the picture they fell in love with someone else because that isnt you....when your catfishing i can assure you the picture isnt the only thing your lying about. when they ask to meet up or face time your gonna have to come up with an excuse as to why you cant show your face. in my eyes its pathetic there is no need to do that if you cant find love as yourself your definitely not gonna find it pretending to be someone else. cause no one can trust you, your just gonna be a liar in their eyes and they wont want anything to do with you

I don't understand why people do it. There's no point to it. If you get close enough to someone online, all will eventually be revealed... thanks to nifty things like Skype. Otherwise, it's just social masturbation.

Catfishers usually do it for personal gain. In this case, I see it more as Social Engineering. I admit, I've done it before as a high schooler to get my way and received things. As I mature, I've grown out of it. I think I was a freshman in that time. The desperate individuals are a very easy target. You know, the "I need a girlfriend" or "I want a Japanese wife" type of guys, etc. Just fill in what they're hungry for and they'll take the bait then do the process. Just pay attention to their typing style. Normally I tell people to either go on voice/cam or take a picture of them with their pinky to their left or right ear. There are ways you can determine if the picture is Photoshop and if they are using voice changer. Some do it for fun/entertainment while the other do it for personal gains. Don't be gullible and you'll be fine.
