Ultimately I am agnostic but since there are different types and various terms and definitions that encompasses agnosticism, I find myself occasionally wavering amongst the selections. I would say I'm a hard agnostic which means I have no hope whatsoever of any proof of there being in existence something divine. I would also classify myself as practicing agnostic atheism because of this. BUT it's not a certainty. I don't know how I will feel 10 years from now. Agnostics can have both faith and doubt. As I get older I lean more towards doubt and ever so gently brush the border to atheism. One reason why I haven't considered myself to be full on atheist is because like those who are balls deep in faith, many atheists too have the potential to be pompous. Example: having conversations about things "supernatural" or various phenomenons which have been documented or recorded allows for no room of possibility or unknown with the atheists I have encountered. They tend to have knee jerk reactions to associate those terms and descriptions as something involving the divine--when I for one, and I'm sure others, can separate them. Meh

"I believe in Spinoza's God, Who reveals Himself in the lawful harmony of the world, not in a God Who concerns Himself with the fate and the doings of mankind."

I'm a practicing and devout Catholic, but I'm part of the Pope's faction and the reformist elements. I vehemently oppose the neocons and curia. In fact, I always wanted to be a priest, I'm just waiting for them to allow marriage like the eastern catholics

I'm not sure if I exactly follow a concrete religion, instead I believe in spirituality and finding peace within oneself. Either way, I think it is far more important to find meaning in your own life rather than concern yourself over the beliefs of others.

My goal is simply to reform the Church and teach the faith. I'll share a story: My grandfather's Aunt Sofia, buried 3 husbands and most of her children. But she was a devout United Methodist. For us Ukrainians, it doesn't matter if you are Roman/Ukrainian Catholic, Orthodox, Jewish, or Protestant- all that matters is the faith in God. With that faith, Aunt Sofia, despite the suffering and heartbreak, never complained. She gave all her time to my local hospital and died peacefully. As many of you know, my grandfather, who raised me, died last week. Before I became active in the Catholic Church, I was afraid of losing him- to the point I was worried I would join him in the afterlife. But this last week proved to me that with a healthy way of thinking, not even death can hurt someone. I learned why Sofie stayed strong all those years. I buried my father and my grandfather, but death doesn't bother me anymore. I am beyond the pain of loss. They were my world, but they do not define who I am entirely. Buddhists would say I've become detached from the world, but in Christian thought there are overlapping. This world is not all there is, at least not for me. Death is not the end and birth is not the beginning. Us Christians believe there is a world beyond death. Buddhists and Hindus teach about detachment and trying to reach a state of perfection- Nirvana. Christians say the same, just a state of "Christlike". But enough about death, that's another topic. My faith teaches to do good works, never complain, accept the pleasures and pains of this temporal world, look to the future which is full of hope, and of course, surrender to all that is good. With that, you can live eternally

I grew up and become a confirmed catholic. That being said, by the time I hit high school, I was pretty much agnostic and borderline atheist. I went through all the motions of CCD (aka Catholic Sunday School although I like to jokingly call it Catholic Church Detention because of the two hours after school on Wednesday's it wasted when it happened during the school year). XD I more went through it to appease my father who is pretty devout and wasn't too keen on us skipping church. By the time I hit college, I pretty much became a "CEO" Catholic (aka "Christmas & Easter Only"), again, mainly to appease my father when I was home from school. I pretty much stopped going by the time I hit 21 and I haven't stepped back in a Catholic church since, unless it was to vote. :p My parents got divorced when I was 24 (a little over 10 years ago now) and my dad has pretty mellowed out about a lot of things. He doesn't really like my atheistic ways (as he calls it, not spiritually right) but he doesn't disown me for it either, which is a lot more than a lot of kids can say for their parents.

I am an agnostic athiest. I find religion both redundant and pointless in our modern world. And it causes more problems than anything else really.
