Well, who knows. Some girls might not get a lot of kindness from guys, ordinarily. Or maybe, they're just dense? (Kidding. But, I'm one of the dense ones at times.) I haven't the slightest idea as to a real answer , really. Sorry, man.

Actually I had similar experiences. You just have deal with it when the time comes. Once a girl makes mind even unkind words sound like flirting. Lol

Sometimes to some folks being nice is also a way to say your naturally flirting. You get used to it and all. I take it as a complement if she is smiling.

A lot of people have this comfort zone that heavily guards them from genuine contact. Kind gestures end up looking like unwanted proposal attempts. Bah. It's a subconscious egotistical way of assuming that all the guys who aren't within her standards or who don't "fit the bill" want her romantically if they act nice. It's just a misunderstanding that can be awkward to clear up but even more awkward if it isn't ever brought to light.
