And that's not telling anyone how to handle there problems at all, in the slightest. Everyone has to handle things in their own ways, nor would I ever say anyone's opinions are stupid. it's just a really touchy subject, so I will do all I can to offer my help and support to each and every one of you. Anyone who believe even in the slightest that you may suffer from Depression, Manic Depression or Bi-Polar, Schizophrenia, OCD, or anything of the sort, I have my fair share of experience and am here to vent to!

You're right hangdogboogie. meds don't solve everything and helping people isn't useless just like you said. I just wish people wouldn't so often confuse depression for temporally feeling sad or being in a bad mood.

Oh I know, i'm sure it's not fun to see that :/ but think of it this way, those things are incredibly hard to diagnose, and you never know how somebody is feeling, so the best thing we can all do, is be positive and be here for eachother, and try to help everyone out! :D

Clinical depression isn't what everyone thinks it is. I've had it since I was 8 being treated for it on and off. It's not just being sad. It's like walking in the dark, and seeing glimpses of light but not ever having a steady source of light... at least in my case. And some people say medicine doesn't help, but in my case it makes things a little easier to deal with. And a pill isn't going to magically make you a happy person, either. Nothing can do that really.
I do agree it's not something that everyone relates to, and that some people mistake other things for being depressed. Just being sad temporarily doesn't mean you are depressed. Just hoping to give you all an idea of what someone like me goes through, and that it's not merely feeling sad.

I used to get deeply depressed because I spent most of every day by myself. It took me a long time to accept, but I'm just one of those guys that walks alone. It's all about finding something to fill the hole with. For me it's my imagination and focusing on work and getting stronger in kendo.
Everyone feels unexplainably sad every once in a while, but if you feel it all the time I don't recommend just bearing with it like I did. Seek help.

Kc watz... Was that really called for? Especially after my comment? I don't know about how you feel but I feel that was completely inappropriate.
As for Arc, filling a hole is also temporary and it doesn't fix the void. Anyway, the thing about depression is everyone suffers differently and has different methods to help.

Sometimes it's not worth explaining... Kcwatz, I'm sorry for your loss, but I'm sure you're smart enoughto rrealize that CLINICAL depression is not the same as ssituational depression. If you think otherwis, cool beans, but you're kind of insulting and belittling people here. I certainly know the difference and "Just getting over it" doesn't always work. Would you just ignore a festering wound? You might ignore a paper cut though.
