How does the Japanese society view African-Americans?

akumaotl
Mostly pertaining to men . Honestly
jas
This is not an educated opinion. My guess is that African-American men are just another exotic foreigner. Your average white boy doesn't get much attention unless they have blonde hair. This was awhile ago so things may have changed.

Mostly men huh? I feel discriminated against, lol . Also, im from surinam, now living in Holland. So technically thst makes me.... African latin american... crazy but hey
jineko
gaijins are highly discriminated in general.
akumaotl
Well that sucks . Still wouldn't deter me from visiting though
jas
They have English dictionaries with our swear words too. So, if you start cussing to yourself as you're squeezed into the trains they'll know :)

Apparently Japanese think blacks are scary. Then again they wouldn't be the first ones smh...
jas
Yep. Well, we've got three different countries worth of opinion. You'll do fine as a visitor. We'll always be yabanjin in general. That does not mean that you'll never meet an open minded person (like jineko) who knows the score.

Meh. I'm fine with living in London. I may love Japan and stuff, but I'd never see myself living there.
