Why there isnt an Anime Channel

hiphop8004
I would love to be able to watch anime 24/7 from my tv but never been able to figure out way, until i actually thought about it 1.) With alot of anime, there design like stories. For instance you cant just watch a random episode of Death Note and expect to know whats going on like with cartoons 2.)Subs Vs. Dubs (plan and simple) 3.)Marketing would be a ploblem because most markets that do appeal to the otaku lifestyle aren't big enough to afford ad space even with these factors against us, a guy can still dream :3

hmm, i'v had the anime network on cable in the past. They got rid of it because AdV went under as far as i know. Now there's the funimation channel. It's not like it runs 24 hours, it's on-demand where you watch it any time you want but there are new episodes every other or every week so if you haven't started from the beginning and it's half way through that can be troublesome. The funimation channel is trying to get titles known and purchased. The anime industry is dwindling due to the economy, I think that's why funimation is really pushing their network.

if you have verison on channel 262 there's the FUNIMATION channel that shows anime

Television is obsolete. Use torrent sites.

well besides the fact of subs and dubs and everything else. I think the main issue would be copyright issues. They have to get permission from what every studio owns the rights

Adultswim on Saturday nights are the closest thing of an anime channel with my cable.

I didn't know they still did anime night on adult swim.

@SolarFlareKC- Yep, they air anime on Adult Swim. It's only Saturday nights, though. SyFy's anime lineup is lame, in my opinion. That, too is one night a week. Speaking of which, I miss the SciFi Channel Festival of Anime. They showed some really good titles back then.
