This site is sadly boring.

And I'm from California too. The good news is I know several really hot otaku girls in RL...who all happen to be taken, ha. Luck... Girls who are into anime are so much better than girls in the music scene...it's not even funny.

It used to be better a year ago.

Were the features more or less the same? As of right now I still find it too difficult to find anyone local. My results seem to be a static page, lol. Come on, this isn't 1995.

Features were a bit worse, logo was not there (which I find to NOT be an improvement), some things worked better, there was still no chat log, but I think what made it something I wanted to come back to was the amount of people from anywhere around the world who were active the end of my senior year in high school. It was great. I made contacts, friends, and con buddies, and even found someone to start a relationships with. The thing is, it wasn't that Find a Person feature that got us anywhere.... being active on the forums did it.

"because barring my lame pics now I actually do look like people's favorite unrealistic crush." what

@Kyetge! I suppose forum activity is good. But there seriously needs to be a better locator since most people go on these sorts of sites to meet locals and, with no good way of knowing, it demotivates people from participating in the forum in the first place -_-. That or it just turns into generic anime forum #5938 but with people's faces (mostly) instead of kawaii animu avatars, and maybe a HINT of offline interaction.

There was actually a history of successful meetups in the Southern California area, from what I remember! Of course, they happened after my semester at Cal was in full swing, so I couldn't have gone down there just to meet up with people. But it did happen. There have also been a few failures. During Anime Expo this year, there was supposed to have been a meetup on a certain day at a certain place, and all but two forgot. It was just one guy and me, and then the others apparently mixed up the date or something because that was it. Nobody else showed up.

You ain't trying to do something about it?! From what I've seen there's plenty of techies on this site so why not make a better one that all the currently ACTIVE members can migrate to??? With all the little widgets you can get your hands on. I would do it but my Java html c++ skills are terribadly rusty and if I'm not at work in terribly tired but still manage to play MMOs

lol flawless logic. So whenever I find a service dissatisfactory, I should start a new one. Should be easy enough, all I gotta do is write some code on notepad for a day and bam. I'm a customer giving this site ad revenue. I'm doing it a favor by complaining. Also, >has time to play MMOs >rags on other people for not doing anything This is coming from a programmer btw.

Not as important as functionality but I feel like I could make more connections if the anime roster was more of a fandom roster. Add Supernstural, Doctor Who, Sherlock, Buffy, community, and other loved and popular shows like that. Add more shows that aren't just anime or animated. Add loved movies like pacific rim and the RDJ Sherlock films. Add comics and comic based movies like the avengers. Add books! Give us more forum topics to discuss. Give the stupid fucking hearts some functionality. If you use gaia online then you'll know what I'm talking about- but make the forum more like that. Large and extensive. Fast paced like the GD/CB. An entire forum dedicated to roleplay. good forums draw people in.
