HOW DO THOSE EYES EVEN WORK?!?! (watching it animated was surprisingly creepy... one has to question ones meaning in life...) *ahem* New Game 10 was FANTASTIC!!! 10/10!!! (or maybe 8.5/10 idk #WOMP) It managed to pull heart-strings while still consisting a entertaining flow, like the full-time/part-time loop-hole, the box of donuts gag, Hifumi's bullying concerns, the reason/implications why that darn cat is so fat, and ending with somber notes like the dedication needed to stay in the game industry and Aoba/Nenechi's friendship (probably my least favorite part since I still find Nenechi annoying #WOMP). They should've ended with one more donut gag, like "Now that we're friends again why don't I give you these box of do--*CUE DONUT BOXES EVERYWHERE* *cue fat cat meowing...* *CUE ED THEME*" Such wasted potential! The direction/subtlety was also nice, like that anxiety-inducing tilted-clock, or even the beginning where Aoba sleeps on the train surrounded by white space and a teasing kid's laughter. Just the dreariness of it all (y'know, cause she's sleeping...) I wonder how audiences feel during these scenes. It's supposed to evoke an emotion but I take it most anime fans don't care unless there's action. Sigh. 10/10 FOR EPISODE TEN!!! I know anime studios tease heterosexual relationships all the time, but homosexual-implications stand out more due to its rarity (in real life that is). After series like Hibike Euphonium (unpopular opinion: I don't feel like it "queer-baited" and even if it did, having the main characters get together would feel... weird... at least that's my opinion), one has to wonder how homosexual fans feel about these forced love-implications. Because honestly heterosexual-teasing is just as annoying! WE JUST WANT TO SEE THE CHARACTERS FUCK ALREADY ("NO SHY NO!!!") That is... I know this particular scene was for the yuri-doujin camp, but fans will create doujins regardless of heterosexual or homosexual pairings, so STOP BEATING AROUND THE BUSH AND MAKE IT CANON DAMMIT!!! The two characters in question have a back-story, so there's significance there. We wouldn't find it weird if they got together (unlike the Hibike Euphonium cast), so why not make it happen? It's not like there's any other ships in this anime (#WOMP) Just make it canon, make a fuck-ton of money from the yuri-camp, have people give rave reviews on how "daring" it is, AND COLLECT YO MONEY!!! Anyways, ep 9 good points: That upskirt scene reminded me of the ol' Princess Peach Super Smash Bros Melee 3D model--ERR, I MEAN?!?! (#LAUGHTRACK) The onsen scene was fantastic ("NO SHY NO!!!") (remember, they're over 18 so it's okay~) ("Oh, Okay!") (#womp) and finally a significant Hifumi scene! ("pervert!") NO NOT THAT ONE... the one where she wanted to get squirted ("PERVERT!!!") NOT LIKE THAT EITHER!!! The scene where she felt left out because no one splashed water at her, and then she gets squirted (IDK HOW ELSE TO EXPLAIN IT) and seemingly starts to cry, but it was tears of happiness (I think?) Finally caught New Game 8 and 9 (too bad I couldn't do 7, 8, 9... #CRICKETS) Anyways, THEY TOTALLY CAST HIFUMI-SENPAI ASIDE!!! That's pretty much all I got from episode 8... it was pretty bad. Aoba's friend should stick with nightly phone calls since at least those feel personable. You'd think having the silly genki character (Sakura) and the uber-serious poker-face gun-girl (forgot her name...) would be an interesting dynamic... BUT THEIR INTERACTIONS ARE SO ANNOYING!!!... Hey, why are you looking at me that way? (#LAUGHTRACK) Anyways, pretty disappointing episode! The only saving grace was the onsen preview (#WOMP)
