Lamby @momoichi yeeaaahhhh, you know my thoguhts on modern rick and morty xD this just solidifies that. dan harmon HIMSELF said that he didnt want to give rick a backstory. that he didnt wanna justify him being a dick. sucks to see this show fall into typical tv tropes like that. also makes ricks seem even less powerful and even more pathetic that theyd make a hugbox away from universes where there were smarter people. idk, sorry, i cant help but seethe. evil morty was kool when he was on screen, but i feel like thats the end of him. he goes to a universe with no ricks and thats it, cause the writers hate him for some reason. idk i cant help but complain im sorryyyy xD

godspell @godspell I liked it. I like this season a lot. Im still trying to keep it consistent where did we part from evil morty backstory. Unless the writers weren't actually doing that. You kinda ruin the series for yourself cause you learned so much of the writers you can't really enjoy it anymore. Bc evil morty said episodic so it's got me wondering

Lamby @momoichi well the writers have bitched openly in their own show about hating continuity and ongoing plotlines, and stated that evil morty was ment to be a one time gag. the whole multiverse structure works for an off the wall episodic show, but just feels shitty that they would be pissy over what the fans want. its not like they dont know how to write for ongoing plots, they just dont wanna. i just dont like how they stated they wouldnt do things, and did them anyways. it feels lazy and uncreative.

Lamby @momoichi they said no time travel, literally 'put it on the shelf' in the background as a gag. and they did time travel. (it was a good episode, i just hate that they were so pompus as to set limitations like that just to break them later on)

Lamby @momoichi they said no giving rick a backstory, which i thought was a good idea as well, and neg on that. didnt even give evil morty a connection to rick either, so the backstory wasnt even contingent on fleshing out evil morty.

godspell @godspell Yeah i don't think it helps they have more writers that can just easily go against what they want or limit set. I really enjoy the comics.

godspell @godspell yeah it was suppose to jerry and Ricky d fun day. And they went to the amusement park. Evil jerry kidnaps them saying he's accomplished everything. Knowing there's a new multiverse to conquer he takes the portal gun. Morty realizes first this isn't his dad. Then Rick like you know he's a jerry no way he loses. Gets beaten to shit by a Jerry

godspell @godspell Then you see jerry take over and rick cant do anything to beat him. He even throws a cat. And the cat just loved jerry
