I think a main indicator would be how they react to you when you're feeling down or depressed. It's perfrctly normal for relationships, or friendships, to have conflicts. Two different people obviously have two different views on the world and different values. If they saw you vulnerable, would they ask you what's wrong and help make it better in any way?
