Star Ocean: End of Time
T.T cry everytime
The Granstream Saga
It's a mediocre game when compared to others in that era, but it's what really gave me a jumpstart for my love of jrpgs. It has a special place in my heart and I'd totally play it again if I got the chance.
I've never heard of that one.
Made my inner weeb hatch and put me on the path of Jrpgs and anime in general. The battle mechanic was fun and discovering new moves was wonderful!! I never understood a core mechanic to the game and considered it to be all luck till I was replaying it at 24 and decided to just read stuff offline. I HAD THE WEIRDEST CRUSH ON NOA.
Why does Granstream make me think Jade Cacoon?..
Well for me it's a whole series really. Etrian Odyssey is fantastic and I can't for Nexus release in the West.
Kula world for the ps1 and lode runner for the n64. Both pretty underated imo.
I definitely love "Blake Stone: Aliens Of Gold", an FPS on the PC from back in 1993. Unfortunately it didn't get enough attention because it was released in the same week as DOOM.
It runs on the Wolfenstein-3D engine but adds tons of new features.
The only thing that I don't like about it is that it contains sprites of raw meat as healing items.
It's very cringey ans unpleasant to think that picking up a purple chicken leg or bloody steak from the floor is good for the playable character's health. If this were IRL then the guy would be dead from parasites and food poisoning by the time that he reaches the boss at the end of each episode, LOL.
Swordcaft story and Golden Sun were pretty good
In my opinion, a very underrated/under-recognized PS1 JRPG made by Tamsoft.
You know that super-generic JRPG you see people in some anime playing sometimes? Guardian's Crusade pretty much on that level. It's a ton of fun, though! Well, at least for me. Probably due to nostalgia.
For any Neptunia fans out there, the character Tamsoft wears one of the main characters of this game on the ribbon on her chest.
The Super Robot Taisen series. Which actually just got a new game announced on Monday. :0
