Games that made you emotional

@klausiboy Of course. There were many times I teared up in D&D and Shadowrun because of losing a party member (or myself), haha.

Well, I one time felt so uncomfortable in a pen n paper session that I simply had to quit. It's a pretty long story, but I'll just mention the most important details. My character had grown up in a small village and he was the kind of guy that knew everybody. But one time when he returned to the village it was burned to the ground. My group and I were being chased, so we didn't have time to mourn the dead properly. Instead my character, while still fleeing would sit down every night and cut a little wooden figure in memory of a villager. I, as the player made drawings of the wooden figures and came up with small stories for the villagers. The point is, I grew kind of attached to the villagers. Later on, we learned that there were survivors being held as prisoners. After a while we ended up finally reaching the survivors, only catch was we were surrounded by literally the 13 strongest villains in the campaign, so we couldn't do anything to save them. Instead we had to sit and watch while each and everyone got executed. And I simply couldn't handle that

Aw, that sounds like a bad DM. Sorry you had to go through that. The plot hook was great (Learning that there are survivors of your home village that's been destroyed), but not being able to do anything to save them is just bad storytelling and sadistic.

Yeah, I wouldn't say he was a bad DM through and through though. We were often put in desperate and kinda uncomfortal situations, but the payoff of suceeding in those situations felt just as amazing. The only problem with that last session was that we literally had no options to succeed. That desperate feeling, and no way to do anything was very emotional

Jean's finale in her arc on Lunar 2: Eternal Blue, as well as a specific scene with Ruby on the same game, is the first things that come to mind. I won't say much because spoiling it ruins the whole experience. XD;; Let's just say there is never a stronger female character than Jean in that game and I relate to her so much - we have similar "backgrounds" and she is what drove home my passion to make RPGs (I wanted to make games before hand, but she solidified the desire to make games with stories than impact people) I really think young girls should have the opportunity to play that game and use Jean as a role model. ^ u^ Much better than the pop idols you see today anyway.

I got done with Nier: Automata recently, and I was not expecting to sob at the end of the final playthrough. It was so unexpected, even the true final credits sequence was moving.
