I actually saw a guy at a convention as Totoro. A lot of people thought he was fantastic.

It's nice to see this thread where there are actually my age. My friend and I are planning a to have a anime/cosplay party for my 30 birthday this year. I've noticed the true Otaku never grow out of it.

I'm 23 myself, but my friend Lorraine is in her fifties and she's TOTALLY Otaku!

I'm 31, so does that make me an old otaku? Btw, in my opinion, once you're a true otaku, you stay like that for life. We're out there, believe it.

Well I'm 60 and first watched Anime when we were still keeping dinosaurs as pets. I think your right Kronos. I know I'm a lifer. My problem is the apparent dating pool of female Otaku is so much younger than I am. I don't want my next love to be a non-anime or non-scifi person so I am a little stuck here. I just have to hope for the best. I must admit that I am a little down this Christmas. That's unusual for me.

A true Otaku never out grows their anime. I'll still be watching when I'm old and in a nursing home. lol
