Oh wow--that sounds intense. .__. Hope she'll be okay. D: Have you taken her to the vet yet? A pool? Wow, that sounds really fancy. :3 Is it like an off-leash place for dogs? c: I wonder if they have anything similar for cats. T^T Aren't they cool? It's almost as cool as tea ball infusers. :3

Actually the pool is usually a small pond, lake, or river. In Marymoor Park, which is the biggest one I've been to, there's a river that runs through it. The current isn't that swift, so the dogs can swim out and play in it. Usually they're off-leash, but they ask that if you have a confrontational or untrained dog, that you keep them on-leash. For us, we keep Ginger on-leash, because 100% of her instinct tells her to run and keep running once she's off the leash. We have taken her to the vet. We go at least once a month, actually, for physicals, gland expression, and to keep an eye on some of her problems. She has a few different chronic problems that are going to get worse as she gets older, so we've been taking her every few weeks in addition to her monthly check-up.

Ohh, I see. Do all dogs just naturally know how to swim? Ahah--your dog sounds energetic though. :3 Has she made any friends with the other dogs? :D That's pretty responsible. .__. Do you feed your dog dog food that they sell in grocery stores, or do you choose what she's going to eat on your own?

Haruu: Most dogs figure it out after a few moments, though some dogs are naturally better swimmers, and some dogs avoid water. My brothers dog, who is an English Chocolate Lab, hates to swim, whereas our Golden Lab absolutely loves it. Ginger does have a few friends. She's naturally friendly, though she doesn't take to being dominated and will quickly show any dog of any size who's boss. When we were living in Renton, she had a mastiff at her beck and call. Right now, she's friends with Bree's landlady's dogs, three of them. They play every day. As for food, we tailored the diet to her, but it's still store-bought food. It's a mixture of two different high-end dry foods. For treats, we've given her small bones called Dingo's, some artificial bacon, and some chewies that help clean her teeth. Her favorites, though, are homemade pumpkin cookies (we make them for her over halloween, they're a dog-specific recipe) and fresh cucumbers.

Oh, so even within the same breed some like swimming and some don't. .__. That sounds nice that your dog has other dogs to play with. Do they ever play rough and get hurt? D: I've been thinking of doing the same for my cat, and also to change it up for her so it won't be the same food all the time. She hasn't shown preference to any foods except canned food though. Oh how she meows for canned food. @_@ I didn't know you could bake pet treats though. @_@ I think I'll do that. Miss Honda likes bread-like foods. c: And lol--cucumber. That sounds so random. XD

I have a cat that I got at an SPCA when I was 4 and she was about a year old when I got her. She was my first pet and is currently my only and recently turned 21. She's outlived every other pet I've had between those years lol
