Why on Earth does the message system on this site keeps getting worse and worse and worse with every single update? Right now it's so screwed up I have a message box on my PC that keeps showing up every single time I open a page with message not only from me but from SEVERAL of my friends I messaged over the years. I scroll up and see all sorts of different people and responses completely at random. Like the system is completely broken, it's bad enough my messages say I have 300 unread messages (which I clearly don't, I'm not that popular) but now I have a broken arse message harassing me every time I open a page on this site. This is beyond infuriating.

That seems to have worked for now - thank you for the help, I'm just baffled how stuff like that happens in the first place.

Old versions of the data in your browser. If you cleared your cookies and cache that also woulda fixed it but it's a pain to do that.

Ahhhh right that actually does make sense now that I put two and two together - completely went over my head. That clean link would definitely be helpful - would be nice to be able to pin a thread or comment for something like that if other people have issues.

For some reason I cannot comment on threads at times when I try to put the direct url instead of being redirected to that link through forums.
