Recommend an anime you liked

I would reccomend High Score Girl if you are looking for anime about 90s arcades (mostly street fighter 2) videogames, culture around the two and some fun adolescent romance. What makes this work for me is while it's a romance anime It highlights a lot of japanese arcade scene and 90s videogames by highlighting characters impressions, expirence, and bonding over them. Despite not growing up when they were new or the same game I can recall similar competitive or funny times I have had with my friends. As for the main couple Haruo Yaguchi while mediocre in everything else has committed himself to passion of videogames with enough self awareness to admit it regardless of what others think. This however gets challenged when silent popular and rich girl Ono Akira matches even surpasses him. Naturally he is pissed that someone so talented in life would take the one thing he is good at and declares her his rival. Both the characters are great in this even if one ends up doing all the talking for both. Might be contrived way of writing heroine, but I find it interesting having to observe Ono's actions, circumstances, and such to understand her feelings. Example: https://youtu.be/QW_5G4HSh1Q

Police in a Pod is a neat show about a couple female police officers in Japan dealing with local crimes. Despite the pictures this series is rather serious with a loose use of comedy peppered throughout to break up the more depressing cases they have to tackle.

gangsta. in a world where genetically modified human soldiers existed, and are no longer of use, they are now used as petty assassins and guards, but our protagonists are handymen; generalists. from murder to painting a shop for you. you pay them theyll do it. also underbelly shit brewing in the background regarding the inequality between these two factions. sadly the company went under so there will never be a season two, and the mangaka has lupis, so the manga will also likely never have a real ending. oddtaxi. the cute art is a contrast to the plot. every character has their own problems, and they all end up intersecting with eachother, every end leading back to our (less than) charismatic taxi driver. this anime was written by a tv show writer, and it really shows with how intricate everything is. one of the best written anime of all time. oh oh oh and shadows house. i feel like this is really underrated (or underviewed) imagine waking up in a mansion and being told your a doll and this back sooty thing is who you were built for, and you are their toy and to serve them as they wish (abuse included). awesome mystery and great characters and amazing visuals.
