Discord exidus

There's been a lot of buzz lately about discord changing it's policies and people leaving the platform because of it. Do you think we'll actually see people switch over to another platform? And if so, what would that be? How do you feel about all the drama with it anyway?

I have a Discord, but I don’t really keep up with anything having to do with it. I have heard from a group I’m in about some of the new policies, but I personally still don’t fully understand or care XD. Though…maybe I should be paying more attention?

^ Okay, I agree with him on that one. That was one of the main policies I payed attention to, but my only issue was you have to show an actual ID just to confirm you are either underaged or adult. Only reason that’s my issue is cause I hate having to show stuff like that on apps of all things XD. Simple identification processes are what I’m cool with…but I kind of understand the extreme case to a certain extent due to it being so easy to lie about stuff online, especially nowadays. But, people are crazy out here and it’s nice that we are seemingly trying to keep kids away from as many creepy scenarios as possible while they’re online.

It's reasonable. It has ties to Palantir, Peter Thiel's mass surveillance program. Can't say what might take over. Either we go to something old or a new program pops up.

Denmark did a similar thing with its younger audience. Its a secruity data gold mine waiting to happen plus if you dont show your id you're just marked as a teen.

I of course think it's a bunch of bullshit. Of course I'm not gonna show my ID. Hasn't even been a year since massive Discord ID leaks happened. I'm part of Nikke on discord so I'm assuming half those channels will be censored because it contains lewd imagery. I'll probably switch to another service that respects privacy if there is a big exodus. Wherever the V tubers migrate to will be the next big thing.
