Too Old for Anime?

yuusaku_godai
That's because of the western perception of animated works. If only people would have an open mind and educate themselves they wouldn't be so closed minded. In the Animatrix there is a special feature called "Scrolls to Screen: A Brief History of Anime" that explains why in Japanese culture it is perfectly okay for adults to read "comics" and watch "cartoons". It has it's roots in Ukiyoe and WWII.

People of all kinds of ages watch anime, Its not about your age. Just like people who watch there favorite shows you watch yours. It doesnt matter what its about. If you like it keep watching or partaking in events. Saying your too old for anime is like saying your too old to watch G or PG movies.

Having an anime character on your tombstone is pretty hardcore dude...I have a few friends well into their late twenties and early 30s who have anime related tattoos...and even my mom will watch certain sci-fi animes...I feel the demographics shifting in anime viewership just as it has in gaming...it's only a matter of time before we start seeing anime geared toward the older and even uber elderly...now imagine some of the epic titles....interstellar colostomy bag commandos for the space anime lovers...mobilesuit powerscooter gundam for the mech anime fans...wow...I will stop now before I try to think up titles for anything close to ecchi...damn my demented mind

Well, I'm 24 and I can tell, that most of the people find it strange for me, to be interested in japanese animation. But I'm interested in it for 10 years for now, and my passion doesn't vanish. Every season I'm excited to check what's new up there. I love to see how my favourite studio's grow and change. I love to see new trends and new quality in animation. I love the check the older series. And there are tons of them. So umm, I guess I don't care. Some people watch brasilian tv shows, some likes to watch sports and I like anime. I don't think there is that much difference. In the end, the only thing, that matters is to be a good person.
