Political rants

verucassault
I mean it could happen but I'm sure we would have heard about it by some FBI raid somewhere.

Anyway, the point is, there are bad actors at play. Some Prides are so big, you can't police them all. I think a lot of people see the craziness of places like Folsom and assume oh we get to do in (insert other city name) not realizing that Folsom is 18 and up only. It's like common sense goes out the window and it could easily be solved by some internal leadership. But that's going to have to take some sensible people and it's hard to promote limits on something when the reaction immediately is finger pointing saying it's phobic.

Well if you're looking for a 1 to 1 comparison every time we aren't going to find one. One group of people's outrage does not a good law make. Laws exist to prevent harm, you'd have to prove learning how to pole dance was harmful and how. To say, WE don't like that you're doing this because it goes against what WE think is right and wrong is not and should not be how politics are done. That's for the religions (unfortunately).

I get that I didn't exactly address what you had brought up. Swapping wasn't my point, but instead equality. My above point was more about one group deciding how another group gets to live their lives and reversing that more than trying to find things in common and letting the other group decide if that was ok. So like a religious perspective should not be able to decide what is moral behavior for groups outside their own as an example.

Lol buddy was gunning for you hardcore until you said you were bi XD Honestly, unpopular opinion but yeah PDA shouldnt be allowed. I dont need to see you kissing up and doing all that around people. Its just weird. But yeah we can tell them what to do because we live by a set of rules ourselves. People think they get a pass just because they are a minority group. I feel if your goal is to be a normal part of society, then we shouldnt have any pride months, pride parades or anything of the sort. Normal straight people dont have any of those. Its kind of hypocrisy to bring up straight people when lgbt has more rights and privileges.

Just gonna say... It's usually me causing the run on shit, thanks for taking the mantle.lol Still, interesting points being brought up on both sides. I won't interject much, just enjoying the tension from the side lines.lol

I also don't remember defining what PDA meant to me. To you it is all that you described but who is making the law that bans PDA and what does it mean to them. In the realm of politics this matters. It's not just enough to blanketly think something is wrong and ban it.

@verucassault Well that is one of my main issues with the lgbt nonsense going on these days. Instead of it being individuals like it was in the 90s, it has transformed into some sort of organized structure. What we are seeing is something that has many people fighting over something as simple as a common morality. We have the group Gays Against Groomers who are being berated by the greater lgbt "community" for being against children being exposed to highly sexual themes. It is disturbing that pride is being used as a political cudgel to be immune to any sort of criticism. I am homophobic to them because I do not like the idea of children stripping off clothing, fine I accept that label. @twobananasshyofapumpkinpie I know you are all in on this lgbt thing, but at some point you have to admit there are very rotten aspects of it. I know you claim of dress codes and whatnot at pride events, if this were true then I would not see people in fetish gear dancing in front of children. We would not see children performing a strip show with full endorsement from the bar holding the event. I don't care if you don't find anything wrong with fetish gear or pole dancing, fact of the matter is that it has a highly sexualized context to it and to involve children in that kind of activity is enough to draw forth a very visceral fury from me.

I can look at it as an art form, dance, or even exercise, but not in this situation. We can look at the origins of pole dancing or even how majority of people would just instantly associate it to strippers which there is no negotiating their role and purpose. That is an adult realm kids shouldn't be brought in. We worked long and hard to raise age limits on certain things for a reason.
