@momoichi What is "defending the confederacy"? If you mean the fringe groups in both parties that nobody likes then sure, they exist. In days pre-1998 yes the Democrats were more pro-Union. However in more recent days they have shed the unions in favor of minority and white liberal votes. Steel Workers Unions, construction unions, electrical power unions are having their industries destroyed by means of rapid changes to environmental standards and regulations in Democrat held areas. The only thing unions that are being favored by the Democrats are the teachers unions which I hate since the most useless and ineffective teachers get to keep their jobs despite poor performance in their classes. Let me break down large businesses and how they donated. Alphabet/Google 80% to Democrats 7% to Republicans, Microsoft 75% to Democrats 14% to Republicans, Amazon roughly 75% to Democrats 14% to Republicans, Facebook 80% to Democrats 10% to Republicans, Apple 80% to Democrats 4% to Republicans. That is the information that is taken from the full article. https://observer.com/2020/11/big-tech-2020-presidential-election-donation-breakdown-ranking/ I support the lowering of the corporate tax rate. 35% corporate tax rate? Why on Earth would anybody want to operate in the US at that rate? Especially since you could set up your company in Barbados at a 5% tax rate. 21% is something that is attractive and makes people more willing to set up shop in the US and makes offshore bank accounts a lesser issue. Granted if I had $5 million of business assets I would probably look to operate out of Barbados even at the reduced rate, be saving nearly a million bucks.

Don't need to apologize. Everyone commits errors.
nebelstern
Except US academicians... no. They mustn't be forgiven.

Now. Replying to Panda. Myanmar is a fucking strong country in Southeast Asia. It has a military force larger than Brazil and they are pretty experienced due yo years of fighting insurgencies on their natural terrain. China gained a great ally with this coup.

i mean when i hear people say 'colleges are indoctrinating our youths' i think of the fact that that's just what colleges have always done leaving home and going to college doesn't just promote activism, but just trying on new things and becoming more independent in general the phrase is 'give it the old college try' for a reason nothing wrong with appreciating your culture and heritage, but there is something wrong with nationalism and fetishization look at japan, students don't even learn that nazi's are bad until university, that's not good.
nebelstern
Dude. That is indoctrination. Children mustn't learn political ideology. They must learn National history. Aka, Onin War, Sengoku and Azuchi-Momoyama periods. Because children and teens have a very biased worldview about the world based on their little experience. School shouldn't teach kids what's right or wrong, that's their parents' role. You propose that an institution tells kids what to think in the long run.

I am all against an entirely standardized culture for every country. It kills aesthetic, it kills behavior and it kills intelectuality.
