That said, covid comes from a corona virus, something we get each year. Its also mainly a respiratory virus, which is highly common. It was constantly said you cannot stop the spread only slow it (flattening the curve) closing things down, and anything like that wont help in the long run, getting vaccinated, and just taking daily percautions like washing your damn hands, needs to happen. Covid was politicized pn both sides, lets not blindly think it wasnt

ill put it like this its estimated that 15% of the American population has contracted covid. although only half a million people have died from it, keep in mind the lasting effects that the virus reaks on the body even after treatment. and i still stand by the fact that half a fucking million people dying is horrific, idc if our population was a trillion, that's too many fucking people! this is the united states of fucking America, the wealthiest, most powerful country on earth! how could we let that many people die?? unless you would actually argue that our response to covid was proper, then you have to concede a large chunk of those deaths were avoidable, making it all the poor frustrating.

France, Canada, the UK, Australia, and China all have higher case fatalities by percentage of population than the U.S. There are more but, just basing on country wealth.

America has more people and most of those deaths at first took place in new york and as you can see the situation there it wasnt handled properly.

we did nothing. what was it, a travel ban from china and later some European countries A FEW MONTHS AFTER TRUMP ALREADY KNEW ABOUT HOW DANGEROUS THE VIRUS WAS?! even with the travel ban citizens coming back from those countries weren't even quarantined or tested! there was a shut down, and i think that helped cull the number si cant remember, but shutting down does more harm if you don't stick with it! it hurts the economy, so you cant just yo yo and shut down/unshut! you have to hunker down for as long as possible! the ACTUALLY essential workers need to work, and everyone else needs to stay the fuck away from each other no fucking Christmas together or fucking birthdays or parties! stay home, where two masks while grocery shopping, work a job if you need to, and stay away from people until we can achieve herd immunity through vaccine! its hard, i know that, and its a strain on the economy, but you know what else is a strain on the economy? people too scared to shop for months on end because of a deadly pandemic! look at new zealand, they hunkered down and theyr economy tanked and if i remember correctly, ITS BACK TO NORMAL NOW BECAUSE THEY WENT BACK TO NORMAL! (sorry for the caps cringe, this honestly gets me extremely angry lul)
