From a spectator's view, I believe it's got something to do with your prediction of whether the line goes up or down and the corresponding profit/loss that you get

To clarify, Arc means buying at a high price, not buying while under the influence. Though many of the best investments have a track record of being made while toasted. It's a legit Stratego! I highly recommend.
