At my one job that's still up and running (large grocery corporation), they are still not doing basic safety stuff (like plexiglass shields). They are hiding workers testing positive in different stores, because they don't have time to clean them, but want to keep them open, and they are making workers undergoing viral testing (due to showing symptoms) continue to work while waiting on the results. They only just 2 days ago allowed us to start wearing masks and gloves, after being shamed on the news. They claimed they were worried about scaring customers. To add insult to injury, while competitors large and small all over are giving significant raises (like $2 an hour), hazard pay, weekly bonuses, etc to employees that have stuck it out through this, the corporation I work for has decided a 10-15 cent raise and a $50 gift card for the store (so they can use it as a tax write of) is adequate.

Oh ya, and even though they started allowing masks 2 days ago for some of us, they still banned many (including food prep workers) from wearing them), and were still doing so today right up until the new CDC order went into effect.

Yep. It's that kind of stupidity and irresponsible behavior with a virus like this that can and will get people killed. It's a real shame. I'd take my chances with your spiders Teacup. At least they can be seen and smashed.

Unfortunately they have A LOT of power. Seats in the state government, voted one of the best (and a couple times best) company to work for in the country. They can even get away with having their own health inspection team come in to do inspections. Which seems like it would be a conflict of interest to me.
