Having the means to make money and the discipline to not recklessly spend it is power. Like passive income. A doctor who makes 300,000 a year but spends 299,000 of it is not powerful. Especially if he has to constantly work and would be in deep shit if he were ever let go. Like that scene from the gambler. The power of "fuck you" If you are in a position where you can say fuck you to someone and know that you'll be okay THAT'S power.
