The emergent potential for this excitable network to form a mental state is unknown, but it might be used to distinguish between different and even contradictory signals to the individual plant and thus determine a priority of response. you happy

u to debate wether plants should have the same rights as animals just cuz they don't feel pain.
both are living things, both get extinct when killed.

yeah, ty, thats all i wanted
sorry, just it bothered me, and i hope you keep reading what i cite in the future, and as will i
you said about arthropods having basic nervous systems too?
yeah i would say they are deserving of less moral consideration as well because they have basic nervous systems
there is a hierarchy of moral considerations
humans are at the top
then animals
then insects
and then plants
it all has to do with their level of sentients as well as subjective experience and ability to suffer

well, then would you eat a lobster knowing they sequel in pain when they are cooked alive. I mean it is just air being realised from its exoskeleton.

@pirate i dont care about whats living, i care about what can suffer and perceive what suffering is
i hold the moral consideration of an average adult over that if one in a vegetative state
i think most people do

that's like saying a person in a medically induced coma is not as important as one that is awake

i dont eat any meat, so no
but would i kill a lobster over a dog if i had to? yes
even among vegans we have discussions over what suffers most
like with the animal agriculture, pigs have a higher level of intelligence and will self mutilate when stressed, so id say its most immortal to consume them
but that can be a debate in and of itself

this is a different debate, but i think most people would prioritize the life of someone whos alive and healthy over someone whos in a coma
