You're on the spectrum, Lamby?
I believe I told you the other day during our bird discussion that sentience to me is the ability to question your own existence. I also believe I have told you that while I would prefer that nothing had to die that it's the nature of the world.
I have been curious since you're Catholic. After the Flood, God granted permission to Noah and the rest that they may eat meat after the animal is slaughtered. Does that bother you being a vegan advocate?

lol did you call me autistic ironically or unironically?
ghost, so retarded people arent sentient because they can not question their existence? does that make slaughtering coma patients ok?
the thing is sentinets is not a personal definition, it has its own proper definition
sen·tient
/ˈsen(t)SH(ē)ənt/
Learn to pronounce
adjective
able to perceive or feel things.

on the catholicism issue, back then humans has a reason to kill and eat animals
in the old testament i believe god said that humans have domain over the animals and shit, but then in the new testament it was humanities job to take care of them, not use them
im a new testament kinda gal

You said "sperg" isn't that slang for aspergers?
It depends on the level of their handicap. There are people so impaired that they are not aware of their actions, they are not sentiment. There are people with mental impairment but are able to function and while not bright can certainly question their existence.
It wouldn't be okay to slaughter them because there is no greater purpose in that so it'd be murder. For animals we slaughter for food. Now you'll probably say meat is not necessary but as I have said before meat is necessary because things like iron or b12 is easier to absorb in meat than supplements. Also a vegan diet takes a lot of planning and money most people couldn't do it. There is also the point I have made before that some people don't do well on vegan diets. I knew a guy who kept gaining weight on a vegan diet so he had to eat meat again and the weight fell off. Everyone is different.
BTW my Bible question isn't part of my debate. I don't use scripture in debates since it's a matter of faith. Just curiosity on my part.

Read Mark chapter 7. No food is off limits BECAUSE it is not food which defiles.
Just had to interject on that part.

sperg is just a internet thing for ranting
lol do you think people with severe down syndrome can contemplate their existence? i worked with these kind of people before and i can tell you its not something thats on their mind.
again, this is not the definition of sentients. its the ability to feel, perceive pain.
now you say we slaughter animals for food, but we dont. we can live without eating them and be even healthier. we eat them for taste pleasure.
b12 and iron is not naturally occurring in meat, its fortified with it. much like vegan foods are also fortified with b12. but even so, carnists are also low in b12 and iron and its recommended they toon take supplements. not only vegans need them
veganism isnt expensive. most of the taco bell menu is vegan. ill add that people dont even eat a ton of meat in their diet, it more comes down to an egg/milk issue honestly. tell me, whats more expensive? the meat aisle or the produce aisle? beans, rice, and pasta are all some of the cheapest if not the cheapest foods in a grocery store.
a vegans shopping list is just beans, pasta, fruits and vegetables, almond/rice/soy milk, and preferably tofu. are mock meats expensive? boca burgers are like 4 bucks for 6 burgers, but the higher end ones do get pricey, thats true, but you do not need mock meats to live.
ill add this was a debate on ethics, not really practicality or nutrition, but ill tackle both regardless (i just prefer ethics as its funner to debate)

Lamby,
Then don't use it, new testament type of gal. Just saying.
*Side note*
If something is a contradiction and you follow it, you'll never know the truth, just opinions. But, I'm a non believer, so it's all opinions to me.(Not to be taken as atheist, for I too have my own opinions.)
And just stirring shit from the sidelines.
