let me tell you something about credit cards that I learned. I have chase sapphire rewards and chase aeroplan credit cards. I'm trying to book hotels/flight through these cards. On the surface it seems like a great deal getting to redeem points at 1.25x value and 5% cash back, but here is the catch: Hotel prices are 1.50x more expensive than when booking through a website like hotels.com. Even with a discount of 20% booking through chase you STILL get screwed. In essence, you are getting raked over the coals booking a hotel through the credit card. You are better off taking your points and cashing them in for money that you can then use to book the hotel on a decent website and get points back that you can then cash out for money. I know, it seems completely crazy, but the math doesn't lie. Also, every two years for chase cards you can become re-eligible for the promo bonus. Or you can go to any street corner and flash dem tiddies for cash. One takes data entry, the other's just a short walk and shirt lift away.
