Could just argue that your god is a puppet master and rules by fear guised as "love" (YOU MADE ME DO THIS!!!) (LOTS of abusive behavior if it were a human doing or saying a lot of those things to their kids. Buuuuut.... Then you'd argue I'm "interpreting" it wrong and that's not how it is. I mean, who's the vessel to ask the potter why it was made? Amiright? /s)". Could compare your god to even older gods/deities that sound an awful lot alike. Could argue that the best atheists were once religious (Never met an atheist that's been an atheist from birth, could just be who I've known.) and most religious people barely open their leather bound God except for on Sundays(Met WAY more of those kind of believers back in my church going days.) and even then it's just to listen to the man in the pulpit tell them how they should live. #Justasmallvent lol XD I'm not atheist, by the way. Not Christian, but definitely not an atheist either.

It's fear when it's quite literally "Follow me or suffer for all eternity...but I love you.". It's a puppeteer when it can be argued that God knew Lucifer would disobey "him", lead a rebellion, tempt mankind and corrupt all of creation. And yet? That same ALL KNOWING God still made them and us, but wants to say everything is planned and how loving he is? Soooo... It really doesn't matter what I choose since God chose it for me before I was even created? I mean, God literally condemned many just for being born into a corruption they themselves could not avoid, but they must ask for forgiveness because God is so loving, sent himself to die for himself so as to save us from his wrath because of the sin that we ourselves could never hope to avoid and God knew that's what was to happen since he planned it. Nah... Not abusive in ANY sense. A beaten wife often says how loving her husband is. Just a thought... Anyways. My opinions are just that and I'm not here to change a thought, but I do enjoy thinking on these kinds of things.

It's now at this time in the conversation I want to ask who has watched the movie Mother... https://www.indiewire.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/screen-shot-2017-08-03-at-5-03-12-pm.png

Because if you haven't, highly recommended if you like artistry in film and it does apply to this back and forth discussion on god and his intent.

Woah i didn't take that away from it. For me it was more man screws stuff up, not religion itself.

Bringing man into the cycle is what caused the mess up. Not the appearance of Adam, so much as when they finally procreate and have a baby/Jesus. Man/Adam was more of a cautionary tale for paradise. That was my interpretation. But I don't see it as anti-faith. I'm more of an outsider looking in so it's interesting to hear your interpretation, especially knowing now you are Catholic.
