Your oddly favorite anime song

mr_brouillon
Hey y'all! As the title of the post say, I want to know what are your oddly favorite anime song. we all have a top 3 of 5 songs that despite of our surrounding, we love them above everything. Let me begin with one song, and I will comment another one, once someone else does the same. I'll go with: Chivalry spirits by Dolce Triade, from the anime Last Exile. I chose this one, because I feel a sence urgency... And even if it's not explicitly frightening, when we get to the quieter part of the song i get shivers when the violins slowly come back. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pBlD-DdzW_Q

hmmm, im usually not into japanese metal, but the overlord ops were all really catchy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dV7BTDqOc30&list=PL0J-Cq8wvzSBFqDifD8NN0Es3V_i7_zR1&index=206

@momoichi Not bad actually, this song have plenty of good element. it's look like a mixture of My Chemical Romance at the vocal point and Rhapsody of Fire for the theatrical energy that I get from this. I don't know much the metal scene from japan outside of Babymetal and Ladybaby (Ladybeard) but one of my Friends is really into it, and i remember one that do a really nice job of setting a mood and it's Ningen Isu. Google it, it's wort it. -- Alright, for my second song, I will go with something completely different, and i name: Easy Breezy by Chelmico, from the anime Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken! (which is not in the anime database bdw) It's one of those intro song that I have a hard time to skip, even if i'm in a bechwatch the series. it has this little something i can't put my finger on it. Maybe it's the mix musical style or the wacky tempo. There is a lot of things going on on this song and I like it! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=76sNmqMzUuI

@momoichi nice, you found something i never herd of it before. there is so much energy in it, it feel like an electris storm in itself. Ngl, i'm tired and it's quite too much for me now. -- Ok, for the next one, i chose to go to the opposite with something compleately different named: The Bygone Days by Tokiko Kato, from Porco Rosso. Porko rosso is a Ghibli movie about a disillusioned pilot who give up on his humanity. the storie is in the italian seaside thetween the 2 great wars and heven for this time he is a man from another time but still have good values (i don't know if my translate is right or not) the whole movie is thinked with a romantic and nostalgic view, and the music too. https://youtu.be/Htq2EUgcrKE to be honest, i'm craving for jazz, blues and oldies as much as other kind of music, so this music have a little someting i like. ...I know it might be boring for other.
dyadka_yar
Probably just blind nostalgia, but when I listen to this it is 2001 again. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4NSMR5iNf8I
mr_brouillon
@dyadka_yar yeah, i can definitively feel the 90's and early 2000's in this song. Anime in this time was different. It remember games like secret of manga and other Rpg like that... I was more a gamer than otaku at this time. I'm not to blame, the french Canadian television was only show anime like "minifée", C.C.S. and Dragon ball. It's past midnight so i'll post a video next time
mr_brouillon
@dyadka_yar i don't know if you watched Cowboy bebop but i think you could like it. it's a sci-fi about bounty hunther and it's very stylish. and by that, i mean that it goes averywhere, picking idea from old western, noir movies, thriller and kong-fu. One of the most interesting thing about this series is that the lore of the world surrounding them is not explicitly said, but you can understand it by looking at their surrounding and really few hint in the dialog. And like the show, the music go everywhere too. the main band who did the soundtrack is simply awesome going from jaz, blues and country to pop, Drum and bass and berber music. Here, one of the must funkiest song they made: What planet is this! by The Seatbelt from the 2001 movie of cowboy bebop. https://youtu.be/YA4P1A3jtu0 Also, if you watch it, do it in english, the translation team mastered it so much more than the japanese crew, even if they did an excelent job. -- @momoichi what's your next song, i'm curious. You're the metal head here, hit me with something good
criselington
Probably one of my favorites https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=t7xHamn5inQ
mr_brouillon
@criselington, not to offence you, but I don't like it. The song is so homogenous, even the part that should pop out of the song simply don't. that's not a problem with this song in particular but with a lot of Intro and theme song. it's the mixing of ot or the post prod the problem. This song should have more space between act (if that's make sence to you) even if it's not much, just a quarter or a sixth of a second should do. ...and they should have put more emphasis on the sound of some ''instrument'' instead of keeping it leveled like that. This is why i also have an issue with Giorno's Theme from Jojo's. the theme is good in itself, but... ...they miss the mark in some place where some cover fix it so well tat's a shame that it's not in the anime in itself. Like this one by example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fOn2uKkcnX8 The sax and poses in the original arent that pronounced in the original.
