4 year old article on the bailout paid to farmers hurt by Trump's tariffs. Costed more than maintaining the nuclear arsenal.

Few months old article on how Trump's administration has brought us closer to nuclear war then we have been in decades. A type of warfare no one wins or survives.

As of 2024, the IPS supports a number of independent projects, among them: Foreign Policy in Focus, a virtual think tank that seeks "to make the United States a more responsible global partner". <<< In a time when the majority of America elects to focus on America and it's citizens. Yeah, I imagine 'think tanks' like these are going to be churning 24/7 now.
Even their website looks like a protest. Lol
"Our projects are headed by our staff experts. They perform policy research in our key issue areas and share our findings in reports, articles, and media appearances. This work educates the general public as well as policy makers — and bolsters the social movements who pressure them."
<<<yeah I fucking bet

I fail to see the problem?
Even though a large part of the electorate might seemingly prioritize "America first" policies (although as it is right now, its more like Israel first, and "lining the elites' pockets" first policies) , it's good to have diverse voices and sources of information on current events and issues on all sides.
Again i dont really see what it is you're critiquing, just remember it's important to keep in mind that it's healthy for a democracy to have discourse on all sides.
As to your two "points":
1. More responsible global partner in this case critiques USA warmongering and sponsoring of death and destruction abroad, feels like an America first priority if you ask me. It also critiques America less than desirable climate policies, or the lack of, in this case. The world is dying due to human activity, this is undeniable and every serious country on this earth including all of Europe and China are fully aware of how important climate issues are. America is not responsible globally and it's a fair critique
2. Yeah that paragraph literally just describes what a think tank does. There are a dime a dozens of those. Conservative, liberal, leftist, politics, science, national, global, etc.

And to add to the climate question. Europe and China are fully investing and developing greener energy solutions. China is leading in this currently. USA is way waaay behind because it's fully captured by the oil and gas industry as well as the military industrial complex. Saudi Arabian oil princes have more control of American policy than its own constitutents. They also heavily sponsor pro fossil fuel messaging and propaganda.
All this to say that green energy and green production is undeniably the future and America could be investing in this, and be the number one leader in the world but instead it bends its knees to moneyed interest and capital. America is falling behind. Call me a patriot but I want America to be #1. I want it to have the best and most sustainable energy and technology, I want it to export and sell to the rest of the world. But nope, China is absolutely winning on that front because our politicians are huffing that gas
All this to say is that, yes, investment in climate IS an America first policy

The critique I guess is letting a think tank do your thinking for you especially when they are incentivized to sway opinions. It's much like main stream news and media. They will sway opinions how their advertisers want or withhold certain topics of discourse because it might make advertisers and sponsors look bad. Also, just throwing out there that I find it comical you are mentioning China being concerned with climate change as they rightfully should be considering they are No.1 multiplied over for carbon emissions.

Regarding the other article about Tariffs and I'm finding some discrepancies regarding "Trump Aid to Farmers" vs the assistance they received for the effects of the Pandemic and other supplemental disaster assistance vs the ARC system already in place to supplement farmers on crop performance.

https://www.politico.com/news/2020/07/14/donald-trump-coronavirus-farmer-bailouts-359932
Once the coronavirus hit the U.S., any hopes for a farm rebound in 2020 were dashed, and the need for a surge of government payments to keep farmers afloat was widely accepted in Washington. Schools, restaurants and meatpacking plants shut down, and producers left without buyers were forced to start dumping milk, euthanizing livestock and plowing fruits and vegetables into the ground. Between the coronavirus, trade headwinds and severe flooding in the Midwest last year, Moore said, “things are so far out of whack” that farmers need more financial help than the annual safety net programs can provide. “Right now, that safety net is chock full of holes,” he said. “We’re headed into our seventh year of a down farm economy. Is that trendline going to change? Forget all the other factors that occurred in the last two or three years.”
“Recent estimates indicate damages to the U.S. agricultural sector from the pandemic alone could be as much as $50 billion over the next two years,” [this article is from 2020] the spokesperson said in an email. “The president has issued billions of dollars of support to ensure American agriculture remains financially viable.”
Even before the pandemic, the industry was already in a vulnerable spot after a seven-year downturn in agriculture and farm debt rising to historic levels. The trade aid and coronavirus relief programs have been a critical lifeline for the hardest-hit producers. But the growing reliance on massive, one-off bailout packages could leave a painful hangover as soon as next year.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So there were a number of things going on, not just the trade war with China, there was the 7 year instability of the farming market leading up to the pandemic, there was the pandemic itself, and that's not looking at what kind of global disasters or natural disasters happened that year with tornadoes, hurricanes, drought, etc.
