@daggerfella They do, and they don't. Contrary to popular belief, they loved Trump because he brought in the ratings every time he was mentioned. The rest is just sensationalized crap designed to grab attention. Biden is just boring as far as they are concerned unless you are Fox News who's target audience has shifted to those how are most susceptible to fear mongering. Though there's these two who actually have fought in two wars who have been commentating on it so far. They have a firm grasp of tactics, logistics, and strategies. And it's a lot clearer than civilian press stations, as their experience helps to put together what may be fact or fiction. So far its Russians who have been producing information that doesn't really line up with reality. @daggerfella Almost, but you sound like you are very new to the game of sociological political analysis. Democratic voters are not motivated to the polls by fear as strongly as Republicans. There's actually been multiple studies on this. And both politicians and news outlets (As well as the larger world of marketing in general) dump a lot of effort and money to capitalize on this. If you're into psychology, I recommend looking into political psychology some time, its pretty interesting seeing how where you are on the political spectrum makes your brain more receptive to certain emotions. For those on the left, fear is more likely to make us stay inside on voting day, since it's linked to depression. It's anger that motivates us to the polls. Hope if you're liberal. Anger if you are the rest of us. Bottom left and bottom right tend to blur the lines a little bit. And as the main stream has finally started to take notice of the libertarian left and right, strategies have shifted across the board.

a theory i heard regarding why the fuck russia would think that they would take ukraine and keep it is because china has been whispering in putins ear, influencing his movements, telling him this will work and they have china's support, all the while lying to him. think about it, russia's crippling itself with sanctions on top of sanctions, its people starving, banks frozen and they are becoming isolated from their neighboring countries. what does this sound like? north korea. they want russia to turn into a north korea so russia HAS to reply on china for their trade, just as north korea does. they want russia as a vassal state that they can rule by proxy. and the fact that theyr talking with ukraine (and from what i heard sending them aid) adds to this theory but it is just a theory, and to be fair i dont think putin would really be swayed by such blatant manipulation, but the situation in and of itself is rather mind-boggling. either putin has developed a hitler complex and believes hes too big to fail, or china is manipulating them in an effort to cripple them also, i change my mind. no war. russia had threatened europe that it means war if they do more sanctions, so it seems that theyr working.

I sincerely doubt china is the reaosn for the russian invasion. While backing them financially seemed more plausible, as china and russia can honestly benefit in terms of sharing the resources from Ukraine i doubt china tricked putin into anything. Putin has wanted this for a long time. This is years of war, putin was ex KGB so he probably had some sort of experience when it came to the Russian/Ukrainian conflicts. Some countries such as the Hamas/Israeli conflict just happen. The west doesnt have to deal with these issues mainly cuz NATO circlejerks and kumbaya with each other and complain when countries they didnt care about start fighting. Im surprised china hasnt invaded taiwan or they probably did and with the focus set on russia no media outlets are covering it. Tho its weird to see how everyone is crying about russian men dying for Putin's war and that the senseless destruction and blah blah blah America sent dozens of young men to die in an unwinnable war. No one cried for them. Its funny how media spins all their bullshit propaganda to make the russians look like monsters for this. They are just following orders. Multiple guys have been captured and they didnt know what was going on. (taking devils advocate for this theory) hes wanted this for a long time, but didnt attack because he knew he couldnt. what changed is the question everyone has been asking. putin isnt an idiot, but i think hes more driven by vanity and pride, where as the chinese leaders seem smarter than that. he was a ex KGB operative that specialized in foreigner manipulation, which is one of the only shades of doubt that i put to this theory, but hes also an old man, and therefore likely prone to recklessness as he approachs his twilight years. all china would need to do is give him a push, whisper what he wants to hear, and he would bite. the motives are there for china, and putin's judgement had been in question since the start of the invasion. this seems like a very logical theory as to why he finally invaded despite having no way of keeping ukraine. and it is working. russia is being so heavily laden by sanctions they will have to rely on another country, and who else would offer a shoulder but china?

Whats different between then and now? A pandemic that ravished every country around the world. Economies took a hit as well. Potentially russia suffered because of the pandemic and in an act of desperation wants to claim Ukraine for all of its resources and land expansion. Putins pipe dream of old soviet era might have been something that took years of planning putin has been testing our military response here in the US with fly overs by alaska. Perhaps obama and trump were both presidents putin couldnt go up against but Biden is. We all know biden is weak, he cant handle the immense pressure and responsibility of a war. Man is practically on his deathbed. So many factors play into why a country goes to war. You cant tell me china egged russia on without so much as sending supplies to russia. Thats preposterous. Look how many tanks and shit got abandoned. This is solely putin in an act of desperation to be one of the "greats" like stalin and others.
