The electoral college that we have today is a relic from slavery. It's not what the federalists came up with. Which would have only been wealthy landowners who voted. The current electoral college came from the 3/5th compromise so slave owners could count their slaves in votes. All the power in our current electoral lies in swing states. Without the electoral college it would not matter what state you're in cause we wouldn't need electoral votes it would just be by popular vote

I still dont think mail in voting should exist. Im all for people getting their chance to vote and i believe it should be their right to vote. But unless you are debilitated and physically cannot move due to paralysis or injury you should not be able to mail in your vote. If its just that you are too old or something thats not a good enough excuse, and if you are not of sound enough mind to find your way down to the voting office you probably have no business voting anyway

@hell_hound7 why? why shouldnt the elderly be allowed to use mail in voting? why should they have to haul their oxygen machine and wheel themselves into the voting booth when there is no reason to bar mail in voting? trump voted via mail in ballot. think he would have done that if he so feared the security of the system? im EXTREMELY against restrictions when it comes to voting. its the second most important civic duty and unless there was sufficient evidence for these bars to be in place (which has yet to be provided) then it should be unconstitutional

Voting on the blockchain would be the fastest and most secure way to electronically vote i'd imagine. Im more for using technology to vote..

Lamby i cannot tell you how many elderly i see wheel their happy ass into the clinic with their oxygen tanks and devices to get their medications. They do this IN person. Why? Because they get it free coming to my clinic rather than getting it mailed through walgreens. If they can do that for medication they can do it for voting. I dont have sympathy for the elderly because they dont need it. They arent handicapped (besides the one who are) its sort of like asking a person with a deformity if they need you to help them. Sure sometimes its helpful but other times it feels like you are trying to coddle them. If i can no longer make it to the voter box because my bones ache maybe i just dont vote. But if i can tough kt out because i believe in a better future for my grandchildren i will do it. Again paralysis and special cases get a pass.

Encrypted online voting i would opt for this. Probably using the same end to end encryptions as many of the different messaging apps.

they have to get their medication to live. id rather they not feel the same compulsion when it comes to voting. its clear that the elderly prefer this system because its statistically how they vote. thats why florida has the highest amount of mail in ballets, because of all the elderly its about balance. if there isnt a reason to take away mail in ballots, why do it? why inconvenience millions of americans because something might happen that hasnt yet? there is no evidence of wide spread mail in voter fraud, so there is no reason to revoke it. if there was id change my opinion ofcourse, but until then, that should be unconstitutional

Again no sympathy, they can do it to live? But you gotta LIVE with that president for the next 4 years if they up prices on medication it affects you and stops you from buying it so yeah you cant change my mind here.
