Any punishment I got from my parents, I well deserved it XD. Insulted my dad once.........never again. Got the belt treatment. After a while the belt didn't do anything to me lol. We'd just laugh about it later. I agree with you. Abusing is wrong but a little punishment is necessary to teach them.

Sorry for backtracking, but Oh boy, here we go again. Some one said explicitly that white privilege doesn't exist. First of all, I hate using the whole "I'm older, so I'm right" as that's the same dismissive shit boomers say in order to not listen to people, but... Okay, Zoomer, you're missing a decade of reference here. "Oh, I've never experienced it, so it must be real!" is a common bliss that I wish I still had. The reality of white privilege is; It's a very nuanced topic. Some places have it baked into the system more than others. And honestly, the reason rural whites tend to cling to it is because they themselves are often still oppressed by the same thing because their ancestors were perceived as having lesser pedigree thanks to their scotch-irish ancestry. So it's inconvenient for them to acknowledge people of color allegedly have it worse. Its perceived by Appalachians especially as "They just want to use that as an excuse to stand over us!" That's why Ohio as a northern state has so many people in the Appalachian territory who fly the union jack at their home. It's a crutch for them the same as black pride is a crutch for urban blacks. So you won't actually get many opportunities to see it unless you start interacting with the more affluents of middle class. For some people it's racial oppression, for others it's class warfare. None of which, people are comfortable talking about. None of which we actually WANT to talk about. But it's in the subtle details. I urge you guys, pay a visit to Delaware County some time. Racism is baked into our country sure argue that all day racism does exist however "white privilege" does not. There is no privilege to being white.
