'just because they dont agree with them,' isnt a fair statement, the unionists far exceed the loyalists. those who want to secede from their own country are traitors, the ones who want their country whole are not tyrants. the confederates were traitors to america, and the loyalists are traitors to ireland. i agree that the members of the ira have committed horrible crimes, but that isnt unique to the ira and nor does it diminish the meaning of their cause. you know what could have saved all of those lives? both the innocents caught in the cross hairs during the civil war and the thousands of irish that were slain unjustly? freeing northern ireland. remove their occupancy and call northern ireland sovereign from england. the ira was fighting a battle that they did not start, and continued to fight it when given a fractured nation as some kind of consolation prize for hundreds of years of pain and suffering. the loyalists who truly want to be a part of the uk can move there. let them apply for dual citizenship or just keep their uk passports if they move over there. ngl cranberries are a one hit wonder. my mom loves them but linger is their only really good song. the lead singer has a gorgeous voice, and its wasted on those songs. flogging mollys a good band, but otherwise i just prefer irish folk music.
