2020 US Presidential Election

@hatingtheworld Even though the US got out of the Paris Climate agreement at least our local state governments have been more or less doing everything within their power to keep their own states environmentally friendly even when the government went lax on climate regulations. I think a majority of Americans care about climate change and I hope the world can start the shift to save our world, because time is already running out and we've already permanently done damage to the world we can't go back on. I think the biggest threat to the environment right now is not developed countries like the US or even China, but countries that cannot afford to make the change and have to rely on destructive dirty energy to keep up. It's a bad, dire situation.

@arc The Paris Climate Agreement was the single most useless thing to ever exist. It was nothing more than moral grandstading. Basically it came down to a country to say, "We will do our best to reduce greenhouse gasses by X%. If we don't... then nothing really happens."

@dyadka_yar yeah, the Paris Climate Agreement has a huge amount of problems that have no consequences. No country wants to be the one to do a huge amount of infastructure changes and holding back their economies while other countries who cant afford to change rush ahead with cheap, dirty energy. It's like telling one kid to hold back while he has to watch the others rush and scarf down cookies from the cookie jar. I have my doubts humanity will ever be able to pull themselves out of this crisis until it is too late for our species.

@arc Worst case scenario is the strongest will adapt to the new conditions. Species isn't doomed.

T.V. reference is stupid. You know what the government did have to tell us to do? Switch from leaded gasoline to something that wouldn't kill us. It was pretty effective.
